WHAT'S NEW?
More files, more devices, more frustration—UnifyDrive UT2 continues to evolve as a portable NAS built to end storage chaos and make digital life simpler, safer, and always within reach. In its latest update, three new features take the spotlight: Music, Reader, and Advanced Search. These additions make it easier to enjoy personal media, organize digital libraries, and quickly locate important files. This article introduces each feature in detail and explains how to use them.
NEW FEATURES UPDATED
MUSIC: CREATING PERSONAL MUSIC LIBRARY
The UnifyDrive UT2 Feature Update introduces a comprehensive Music Library that transforms the way users manage and enjoy their digital audio collections. This feature allows individuals to build a personal music library, organizing tracks by album, artist, directory, or category. The system supports a wide range of mainstream lossless audio formats, including FLAC, APE, WAV, DSD, and DFF. This ensures that audiophiles and casual listeners alike experience high-fidelity sound without compromise.
Playlist management offers flexibility and convenience. Users can create, edit, and share playlists, or play entire albums with a single tap. The system displays album cover art, artist information, and genre details, enhancing the browsing experience. Local lyrics display adds another layer of enjoyment, allowing users to follow along with their favorite songs.
Multi-device playback is also available. Users can access their music from mobile phones, TVs, computers, and even amplifiers or speakers. The Music Library supports DLNA streaming and Bluetooth control, making it easy to play music on various devices throughout the home or office. Remote access capabilities enable users to enjoy their favorite tracks from anywhere, whether at home or on the go.
Compatibility remains a key focus. The Music Library works seamlessly with different music players and supports access protocols such as SMB, NFS, and WebDAV. This ensures that even older devices can connect and play music without issue. Large-screen device support enables source amplifier output, making it possible to connect to various amplifier devices for an immersive listening experience.
How To Add Songs/Albums?
- Please click on the Music feature and select “Add” to start adding your favorite songs. Before adding music, create a folder and place all your music files inside it. Then go back to the Music interface and click “Add.”
- Due to multi-selection support, multiple items can be added at once—for example, several CD albums in a single step.
- If you want to edit uploaded music information, please click “Edit” and modify details such as cover image, year, or album artist.
- If you want to quickly find specific music, please use the Search Function on the page. Search options include songs, albums, artists, and personal playlists.
The Music feature transforms UnifyDrive UT2 into more than just storage by offering an organized, high-quality, and flexible way to enjoy a personal collection. With support for lossless formats, multi-device playback, playlist sharing, and convenient editing and search functions, it provides a complete solution for building and managing a digital music library.
READER: STORING AND MANAGING EBOOKS
The Reader feature provides a powerful solution for readers and collectors. Users can build a personal library that stores and categorizes more than thousands of books. The system displays book covers and introductions, making it easy to browse and select titles. Keyword search functionality allows users to quickly locate specific books or authors within their collection.
The Reader supports multiple formats, including TXT, PDF, and EPUB. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of digital books and documents. The built-in reader offers all the essential features found in dedicated eBook devices. Users can adjust font size and style, track cloud reading records, and resume reading from where they left off. These features make the reading experience comfortable and personalized.
Note: The Reader feature leverages the UT2’s high-performance hardware, ensuring smooth browsing and fast access to large collections. However, reading is currently supported only on mobile devices, with desktop access not yet available.
How To Upload?
- Please click on the Reader feature and select “+” to start adding books. Before adding, create a folder and place all book files inside it, then return to the Reader interface and click “Add.”
- Reading modes can also be adjusted in Settings, with options such as Auto Page Turning, Page Turn Mode, Brightness Theme, and Screen Lock Time to match personal preferences.
The Reader feature transforms UT2 into a personal digital library, offering organized storage and a customizable reading experience anytime, anywhere.
ADVANCED SEARCH: FINDING CONTENT FASTER
Managing large volumes of data can become overwhelming, especially when files span years of work or personal archives. The Advanced Search feature in the UnifyDrive UT2 Feature Update addresses this challenge with AI-driven technology.
The Advanced Search feature allows users to quickly locate desired content using keywords, including but not limited to photos, documents, videos, audio files, zips and more. The system identifies relevant materials based on the input keywords, making it easier for users to find required files, save time, and improve productivity.
The Advanced Search feature also supports content search within documents. It can analyze text in specific file formats and locate the right documents through keyword search. This makes it easier to manage information and quickly access the files needed.
How To Use?
- To use Advanced Search, please first click on the feature and enter its interface, where a Search Bar will be displayed. For example, if a document is needed but its location is forgotten, simply enter a keyword such as “UnifyDrive UT2” to locate the file.
- For Document Content Search, please follow the steps and guidelines provided in the app, where detailed instructions and precautions are clearly explained to help ensure proper use.
With Advanced Search, UT2 goes beyond simple file browsing by allowing keyword-based searches across media, archives, and even document content. This not only streamlines data management but also ensures users can access the right information quickly and work more efficiently.

Together, Music, Reader, and Advanced Search turn UnifyDrive UT2 into more than storage—they create a unified hub for enjoying music, organizing books, and finding content fast. With lossless playback, a personal eBook library, and keyword-based discovery, users can spend less time managing files and more time using them. Update to the latest version to try these features now, and make everyday digital life simpler and more efficient.
