The drive is great for downloading, but I can't get it to upload to my computer. Tried using cloud services, won't let me sign into One Drive and using Google Drive it can't access the files on its hard drive
I bought the UnifyDrive UT2 mainly to transfer large amounts of data over Ethernet from PCs where USB storage devices cannot be used. The idea of having a portable storage device that can be accessed directly over LAN is excellent.
Unfortunately, the actual transfer performance has been very disappointing.
With the UT2 connected directly to my PC via Ethernet, and the connection confirmed to be linked at 1 Gbps, SMB file transfer speeds were only around:
Read: approximately 40 MB/s
Write: approximately 20 MB/s
I do not expect the full theoretical maximum of 125 MB/s from a 1 GbE connection, but around 20 MB/s write speed is far below what I would consider acceptable for this type of product, especially when transferring large files.
I also checked the connection under different conditions, but the performance remained much lower than I expected.
The concept of the UT2 is very appealing, and being able to use it as a portable LAN-connected storage device is genuinely useful. However, if you are buying it expecting reasonably fast wired file transfers, I would be very cautious.
For my intended use, the Ethernet performance is simply too poor. Until the transfer-speed issue is improved, I cannot recommend this product.
Perfect device for my applications! Wish there was a webside built in too xD

Setup today works a treat. Feature rich.
With light workload, the built-in battery can last for nearly 1 hour. With heavy load or large data transfers, it can last for more than 20 minutes. The primary function of the built-in battery is to protect data in case of unexpected power outages and to support short-term use. For extended use under heavy load, we strongly recommend using a power bank. Even a 5000mAh power bank can support the device for several hours and is very convenient to carry.
The UT2 supports a wide range of photo, video, and document formats and can even handle file decompression, making it versatile for creative and professional use.
Yes, you can extend usage via power banks.
Sure, just like the portable SSDs, the UT2 can carry onto the aircrafts or trains.
No, it supports offline one-button backups from cards to the UT2 and serves as a backup solution from device like Phone to the UT2 via AP mode.
Yes, it can be used as a home NAS(on for 24/7) with UPS.
